Creative Club Camps

We are excited to offer Coding for Kids with weekly programs for 1.5 hours per day from Levels 1 – 4. Each class is a progression in learning about Scratch – movement, sound and control. Our instructors cover everything the kids need to begin to understand, experience, and design games with scratch. Our programs spark curiosity and excitement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). All you need is a laptop or computer to participate in the classes.

  • Morning or Afternoon Sessions – 1.5 hours each day
  • Build on each day and progress from Levels 1 through 4

Program Overview:

In this exciting program of 5 sessions, we explore Scratch and it’s limitless potential for 1.5 hours daily from Monday – Friday. Each class is a progression in learning from Scratch – introduction to movement, sound, and control on Day 1 to the students creating their own unique games as they gain knowledge and understanding by Day 5. Our instructors cover everything the kids need to begin to understand, experience, and design games with scratch. This one-week course will provide your kids with the confidence and know-how to communicate to you what they learned.

Prerequisites: None

Ages: 6 – 10
Dates: Weekly – Starting July 13
Duration: 1.5 Hours Daily – Monday – Friday (5 Classes Total)
Times: 9:30 am – 11:00 am or 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Course Daily Outline:
Monday: Introduction to Programming and Scratch
Tuesday: Development of Ideas
Wednesday: Introduction to new Functions and development of game design

Friday: Finalizing Projects and Celebration of Achievement!

Level 2: Just Scratching the Surface!

Program Overview:

Welcome to the continuation of Level 1: Let’s Get Scratching. Our Scratch Adventure continues as we are ‘Just Scratching the Surface’ of what your kids can design. For 1.5 hours each day Monday – Friday, students will be introduced to more advanced functions and coding principles. Everything from creating games to animations and much more will be covered. By the end of the last session, students will have the ability to communicate their understanding of basic coding principles.

Ages: 7 – 10
Dates: Weekly – Starting July 13
Duration: 1.5 Hours Daily – Monday – Friday (5 Classes Total)

Level 3: Keep Scratching On!

Program Overview:

Your child now has the tools and a solid understanding of coding from Levels 1 & 2. We invite them to ‘Keep Scratching On’ in Level 3. Students will be introduced to more highly specialized functions and coding principles. From creating advanced games to coding the craziest animations, It is time for students to be more creative and reduce their limitations. By the end of the course, students will have the ability to unleash their creativity and communicate their good understanding of these coding principles.

Prerequisites: Level 2: Just Scratching the Surface!

Ages: 8 – 12
Dates: Weekly – Starting July 20
Duration: 2 Hours Daily – Monday – Friday – 5 Classes Total
Times: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Monday: Introduce new concepts and review Levels 1 & 2
Tuesday: Project assignment
Wednesday: Introduction to new Functions
Thursday: Project Development continues
Friday: Celebration of achievement!

Level 4: Scratching the Final Frontier

Program Overview:

In the final edition of our Scratch program, students should already have an advanced understanding of Scratch and will be introduced to more abstract functions and coding principles. Students will be put into small virtual teams and will be creating complex games and functions not for the faint of heart! By creating these productions, students will gain insight into how the real world operates, and will learn how to communicate with their teams effectively.

Prerequisites: Level 3: Keeping Scratching On!
Next steps: Come Scratch again in The Final Frontier – NEW Projects (Level 4)

Ages: 10+
Dates: Weekly – Starting July 27
Duration: 2 Hours Daily – Monday – Friday – 5 Classes Total
Times: 9:30 am – 11:30 am and 1 pm – 3 pm

Course Daily Outline:
Monday: Review of the material covered in Level 3 and introduction to new concepts
Tuesday: Project and Team assignment and Planning phase
Wednesday: Progress report and coding challenge
Thursday: Project Development continues
Friday: Presentations of completed projects and celebration of achievement!
