How Do Your Programs Align With the School Curriculum?
Our staff curriculum writer is a certified teacher with over 25 years of experience. He aligns our programs to match the curriculum standards for each grade level.
Do You Provide All Materials and Equipment for the Program?
Yes, we provide everything needed, including handout materials, an unlimited supply of LEGO® Bricks and boards, robotics, and giant blocks where needed, plus instruction.
How Long Does a Typical In-Class Session Last?
Workshops are 1.25 - 1.5 hrs for K - 3. They are 2.5 - 3 hrs for grades 4 - 8.
What Do You Cover in Your STEM Workshops?
Our main focus is on strong and stable structures, with the theme of Mission to Mars.
After-School/Lunch Programs:
What Is the Duration of Your After-School/Lunch Programs?
Our programs run up to 1 hour in length for maximum participation and focus.
Are These Programs Suitable for All Age Groups?
Yes. Grades 1–8.
Do the Students Eat Their Lunches With You or in the Classrooms?
Each school is different. We prefer the students each with us. That allows us to take attendance and ask the office to find any missing students before they go outside for lunch.
Do You Require Supervision for the Students During the Program?
Our instructors lead the program. We do ask for supervision for after-school programs to attend to the kids needs (washroom breaks, etc.) while our team runs the program.
How Do You Ensure All Students Stay Engaged During the Program?
We provide the project challenge and ask students to work in groups to build/create as a team. Our instructors assist students and engage the group throughout the program.
STEM or Math Night Programs:
What Does a STEM or Math Night Look Like?
Your school community walks into your school gym to find a Giant Block Lounge for relaxing, a Giant Block house for playing, and assorted LEGO® Bricks and Duplo to build. Once the program starts, families rotate through each of the 4 or 5 stations every 10 - 15 mins. The evening is complete with a group picture of the kids by the STE(A)M or MATH Night Block sign.
What Activities Do You Typically Include in a STEM/Math Night?
Each station will focus on a different strand of math or STEM, using LEGO® Bricks, robotics, and engaging projects for kids.
Can Parents Participate Alongside Their Children?
Yes. We encourage families to learn together throughout the evening.
What Is the Maximum Group Size for This Event?
Depending on the size of your school gymnasium, we can accommodate up to 25 kids per station. The maximum group size for the event is 150 - 175 people, including kids and parents.
How Much Setup Time Is Required Before the Event Begins?
We start setting up 2 hours before your guests arrive.
Do You Have Promotional Materials for the School to Advertise the Event?
Yes, our team is creating a flyer template for schools to help promote to the school community. You can customize the materials for your school.
What Do You Need From the School for the Event?
Direct access to the school gym from outside for loading, a dolly/cart for moving the blocks, 20 tables for the stations, a microphone and sound system for announcements and music, and, of course, families to learn and enjoy the experience.
